Fourteen smuggled pieces of art with historical and archaeological value from a foreign state were seized on Wednesday upon arrival at a Damietta port.

Damietta police acted on a tip that a 52-year-old woman was scheduled to receive a personal shipment with smuggled artwork inside a container from a foreign state via Damietta harbour.

After searching the shipment, the fourteen pieces were found.

All necessary legal measures were taken against the woman.
