The first regional conference of general prosecutors and attorneys of African and Europe continued sessions for the third day on Thursday.

The conference is being held at Egypt's Red Sea resort of Sharm El-Sheikh.

Egypt's Prosecutor General Nabil Sadeq, and European Union Ambassador in Cairo Ivan Surkos, had opened the three-day event on Tuesday.

The gathering brings together lawyers and chief prosecutors across 24 African countries, three European states and six international organizations. Sessions focus on fighting smuggling, human trafficking and the exchange of information between international and regional authorities.

Cristina Albertin, Representative of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) Regional Office for the Middle East and North Africa, is scheduled to address today's session.
