Egypt’s President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi is set to head to Germany on Sunday for a busy four day visit, where he will discuss cooperation in combating terrorism and illegal migration.
In press statements to Al-Ahram, preidential spokesman Bassam Rady said El-Sisi is set to meet with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and a number of senior German officials.
This is going to be El-Sisi’s sixth meeting with Germany’s Merkel since the Egyptian President was sworn in as head of state in 2014.
The talks will also include a focus on means of boosting ties, cooperating in different fields, and increasing German investments in Egypt.
El-Sisi will also participate in a mini summit with African leaders at the G20 summit.
Rady said such a participation comes as an affirmation of the level of importance which Egypt attaches to activate cooperation between African countries and the countries of the G20 in different developmental fields in light of Egypt’s chairmanship of the AU Summit next year.
