Brotherhood Shura Council authorises Guidance Bureau to consult with FJP

The Muslim Brotherhood and its political arm, the Freedom and Justice Party, will directly consult on Egypt's transitional period

The Ikhwan Web published Sunday that the Muslim Brotherhood Shura Council has agreed to and authorised the movement's Guidance Bureau to consult directly with the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP), the political arm of the Muslim Brotherhood, regarding Egypt's transitional period.

In particular, the Brotherhood and the FJP are to consult on the relations between the People’s Assembly and the government.

The Muslim Brotherhood had earlier declared — shortly after it formed the Freedom and Justice Party — that the Brotherhood and the FJP would remain separate. Members of the Guidance Bureau who become members of the party’s board are replaced.

Ikhwan Web also added that Guidance Bureau member Saad Al-Husseini was replaced by Mohamed Taha Wahdan due to the former’s election to the FJP’s Executive Office.
