Egypt has asserted its support for the security and stability of Sudan, saying it is part and parcel of Egypt’s national security.
This came in a joint statement issued at the end of the second round of a four-way session held in Khartoum between the foreign ministers and intelligence chiefs of both countries within the framework of following up on the results of a meeting held in Cairo on 8 February.
Both sides reviewed the steps taken to boost bilateral ties since holding the first round and the positive developments witnessed in Egyptian-Sudanese ties.
The meeting also tackled the progress of joint projects between the two countries including the project of electric linkage between Egypt and Sudan.
Both sides welcomed the meeting currently being held by the Permanent Technical Authority for Nile Water in Cairo on 24-28 December.
