Egypt is set to see “extremely cold” weather on Wednesday, Egypt’s Meteorological Authority has said, with rain forecast on the country’s northern coast.
Cairo will see a high of 18 degrees Celsius and a low of 10 degrees, while Alexandria will see a high of 17 degrees and a low of 8 degrees.
The northern half of Egypt will see active sandy winds becoming storms, leading to reduced visibility on roads, and making the weather feel colder.
The Mediterranean will see a turbulence in navigation, with waves rising from 2.5 to 3 metres. Red Sea waves will be moderate with waves rising from 1.5 to 2 metres.
