Egypt shut down on Wednesday two main ports on the Red Sea due to stormy weather, state-run MENA news agency reported.

In a statement, the Red Sea Port Authority said it closed the ports of Suez and Zeitiyat at 2pm on Wednesday due to strong winds and three to four-metre high waves.

During the past week, several ports on the Mediterranean and the Red Sea were shut down temporarily due to powerful winds and dust.
