Egypt's President Abdel-Fattah El Sisi spokes with his Ugandan counterpart Yoweri Museveni by phone on Sunday, and discussed how to promote developmental cooperation among Nile Basin countries.

In an official statement, El-Sisi’s spokesman Bassam Rady said the Egyptian president reiterated his keenness on boosting coordination and consultations on issues of peace, security and development in Africa under Egypt's chairmanship of the African Union in 2019.

Museveni hailed the friendly and brotherly ties between Egypt and Uganda, extending thanks to the Egyptian people and leadership, according to Rady.
