The joint training by Egyptian-British military forces (Ahmus I) continues in the Mohammed Najib military base, a statement by the Egyptian military spokesman Tamer El-Refai read.

The training included many theoretical lectures for the transfer and exchange of various experiences.

The training also includes practical training on the discovery, decommissioning and destruction of explosive devices.

Other exercises aimed to achieve full control and management of operations through training on land use and individual movements in the field.

Commander of British Forces in Cyprus James Illingworth inspected the drills, hailing the greater combat readiness of the UK and Egyptian troops and the harmony between them.

The joint Egyptian-British military training exercise Ahmus I started in Egypt on 7 March.

British forces and military equipment have been arriving at Egyptian air bases and naval ports to participate in the joint training, which includes counterterrorism training and exercises focused on urban combat.

A coordination conference was between leaders of the participating forces to unify concepts and bolster the mission of the training.
