The Egyptian cabinet's central operations room has been following the national referendum taking place around the country on Saturday.

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli is following up on the voting process through the operations room and communicating with provincial governors via video conference, so as to ensure that all logistical support is provided during the referendum.

Polls opened on Saturday morning for three days of voting on whether to accept a package of amendments to the 2014 constitution.
