President of the National Council for Women (NCW) Maya Morsy called on all Egyptian women Saturday to participate in an ongoing referendum on proposed constitutional amendments.

Morsy gave remarks after casting her ballot at a polling station in Dokki district in Giza.

Earlier today, Morsy opened an operations room at the council's complaints office to receive any relevant complaints or inquiries during the referendum, which is scheduled to last until April 22.

The referendum covers 12 articles in the current constitution as well as a new one on the inception of a Senate, a second chamber for the parliament.
