Egypt has offered its condolences to Russian victims of a deadly plane fire at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo airport on Sunday, which left 41 passengers dead and several others injured.

The plane had taken off from the airport but then returned to make an emergency landing, with the rear part of the plane bursting into flames as it hit the runway.

The Egyptian foreign ministry said in a statement on Monday that the country fully supports the government and people of Russia in their ordeal and wishes the injured a speedy recovery.
