The House of Representatives' health affairs committee has recommended increasing share of the health and population sector in the 2019/2020 budget to EGP 90 billion, with an estimated increase of EGP 17.1 billion, as the current budget approved by the Finance Ministry stands at EGP 73.62 billion.
The committee convened Monday to tackle the final recommendations on the 2019/2020 draft general budget, as well as the economic and social development plan.
Undersecretary of the health affairs committee Inas Abdel Halim said the panel recommended an increase in financial provisions for salaries and compensations, treatment at state's expense and the health insurance services for the needy people.
