The Ministry of Religious Endowments (Awqaf) has allocated an EGP 300 million to support the state's poorest villages and education services, Minister of Religious Endowments Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa announced.

This move is part of the ministry's community service efforts, Gomaa added during a cabinet meeting Wednesday held under Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly.

Two thirds of the allocated sum will go to a national initiative dubbed “Decent Life,” which was launched by President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi to provide better living conditions for the neediest families, the minister said.

The rest of the allocated sum will go to the Educational Projects Support Fund, Gomaa noted.
