Several Egyptian women have called on social media sites for a "mothers’ march" Under the banner “Stop killing our children,” for Sunday at 11am at parliament to demand an end to the current bloodshed.

So far, 12 protesters have been reported dead since clashes erupted between young demonstrators and police Thursday.

Clashes erupted as a response to the Port Said massacre Wednesday night.

Some 73 football fans, mostly supporters of Al-Ahly club, were killed after rival Al-Masry fans stormed the pitch at the end of an Egyptian league game between the sides in Port Said. It is estimated that those killed ranged in age between 14 and 35. 

The game witnessed tensions from the opening minute and lacklustre security, according to many eyewitnesses.

Protesters are blaming the police for the deaths of Al-Ahly fans, known as the Ultras, who have played a key role in the Egyptian revolution since 25 January 2011, increasingly demanding that the ruling military council step down.
