The European Union (EU) has condemned a terrorist bombing that took place in Cairo last night outside the National Cancer Institute in Manyal, leaving dozens dead and injured.

"I strongly condemn this deplorable terrorist act that caused the death of 20 innocent people and the injury of 50," Ambassador of the European Union to Egypt Ivan Surkos said on his Twitter account on Monday.

Surkos also stressed the EU's solidarity with Egypt in the fight against terrorism, saying that the EU "stands side by side with Egypt."
