Egypt expresses solidarity with India over flooding

Egypt expressed solidarity with India over major flooding that has recently hit the eastern Indian state of Assam, offering condolences over the deaths.

The Egyptian foreign ministry said in a statement Tuesday that Egypt "stands by the government and people of friendly India in the face of the crisis."

In recent weeks, floods and heavy rains claimed dozens of lives and displaced hundreds of thousands of people in the area, among the worst hit.
