Egypt’s 2019/2020 school year is scheduled to start on 21 September for most school grades, the country's education minister said at a press conference on Saturday.

Kindergarten and grades one and two are scheduled to start on 11 September, Tarek Shawky said.

Grade two students will have a new curriculum this year, the minister said, adding that new curricula for the other grades will be introduced by 2020.
