According to a statement issued by the ministry, Shoukry reiterated Egypt’s stance that it is important to reach a complete political settlement in Libya in a way that preserves the country’s unity and helps restore the role of its national institutions as well as contributes to fighting terrorism and terrorist organisations.

From his side, Salame shared with Shoukry the latest developments concerning his talks with all parties involved in the conflict in Libya, and expressed appreciation for the Egyptian role in efforts to end the crisis in the war-torn country.
