Egypt's border security forces foiled infiltration and illegal immigration attempts by 217 people of various nationalities in August.

Moreover, 58 criminals were arrested last month, "due to the vigilance and tireless efforts by border security forces to confront saboteurs and smugglers to protect national security," read a statement by Egypt's army spokesperson.

Border troops also seized 30kg of hashish, 309,000 Tramadol tablets, and other narcotics, in addition to explosive materials and weapons, including two RPGs, one sniper rifle and a number of automatic and machine-guns.
