Maya Morsi, president of the Egyptian National Council for Women (NCW), said that the selection of 12 women for membership in the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs is a new gain for Egyptian women.

The NCW issued a statement on Tuesday congratulating the 12 women, especially Amina Naseer, professor of philosophy and Islamic religion at Al-Azhar University, and she is the first woman to chair a committee in the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs.
