Ambassador Stephanie Rivoal Reminisces, the secretary-general of France-Africa Summit 2020, has said that the Egyptian foreign ministry has confirmed the participation of President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi in the 28th summit, due to be held on 4-6 June in the French city of Bordeaux.
In press statements by the French embassy in Cairo, she said that President Emmanuel Macron chose "sustainable cities" to be the main topic of the summit.
The French diplomat praised development projects in Egypt and the expertise of Egyptian companies in building mega projects, especially new cities, to face the overpopulation problem.
Reminisces said she met with a number of officials at the Egyptian foreign ministry and the ministries of housing and investments and was posted on President El-Sisi's directives to establish 14 new cities.
The French diplomat said her country's authorities have invited African countries to take part in the summit to discuss how to construct new cities with a new perspective.
She clarified that the activities of the summit include speeches by the heads of state and meetings among the businessmen of the continent, pointing out that invitations have been delivered to 1,000 male and female investors representing major companies and small and medium projects.
The French diplomat said the French-African summit would be a chance for the heads of the major African firms and businessmen to exchange viewpoints and will also be a chance for France to reaffirm its desire to cooperate with Africa to develop the economy of the continent's countries.
On her visit to Egypt, Reminisces said she sensed an interest by Egyptian companies, especially those working in the housing domains, to establish projects in Africa.
