Rain is forecast in several areas across Egypt over the next two days with hot temperatures during the daytime, Egyptian meteorologists said.

Rain is expected on Wednesday in northwestern cities including Marsa Matrouh and in South Sinai, where the popular winter resort of Sharm El-Sheikh is located, the Egyptian Meteorological Authority said on its official website.

Cairo, cities on the Mediterranean including Alexandria, and the Nile Delta region will see rain on Thursday, EMA said.

Highs are forecast at 33-31 and lows at 21-20 in Cairo and the Nile Delta on Wednesday and Thursday respectively.

Alexandria is expected to see highs of 31 degrees on Wednesday and 27 on Thursday and lows of 19 on both days.

The popular Red Sea resort cities of Hurghada and Sharm El-Sheikh will see highs of 31-23 degrees and lows of 23.

The southern part of Upper Egypt, where the ancient cities of Luxor and Aswan are located, will see highs of 34 and lows of 20.
