Rain is forecast for Cairo and some other parts of the country on Thursday, with temperatures expected to hit average lows of 13-15 degrees Celsius.

Cairo, cities on the Mediterranean, and some parts of the Nile Delta region will see rain, the Egyptian Meteorologist Authority said on its official website.

The coast and the North Sinai region will also get rain on Friday, although the capital should remain dry, and the wet weather will continue on Saturday on the northwestern coast, around Alamein.

Temperatures are forecast to remain steady over the next three days, with highs of 19 degrees and lows of 13 in Cairo and the Nile Delta governorates.

Alexandria is expected to see highs of 19 degrees and lows of 14-15.

The popular Red Sea resort cities of Hurghada and Sharm El-Sheikh will be slightly warmer, with highs of 24 degrees on Thursday and 21 on Friday and Saturday and lows of 17 throughout the three days.

The northern part of Upper Egypt – which includes the governorates of Minya, Fayoum and Beni Suef – will be the coldest, with lows predicted to hit 11 degrees.
