Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi is set to inaugurate the third edition of the World Youth Forum (WYF) in Sharm El-Sheikh on Saturday.

The forum will discuss a number of key topics, including industrial revolution, food security, the Union for the Mediterranean, environmental challenges, artificial intelligence, block chain technology, women’s empowerment and the arts and cinema.

Heads of states and government, international young leaders, inspiring youth in various fields, prominent international figures and youth groups from around the world will participate.

The closing session on Tuesday will see a list of recommendations unveiled.

The World Youth Forum was first organised in 2017 in Sharm El-Sheikh as an initiative by participants in the country’s National Youth Conference, to engage in dialogue with youth around the globe as well as with top policy makers worldwide.

Last year, Egypt announced the recommendations of the second edition of the World Youth Forum, as well as the launch of an annual Euro-Mediterranean Youth Forum and a Euro-Mediterranean Economic Forum, to be held in a different Mediterranean country each year.

The forum's recommendations last year were divided into three main pillars: peace, development, and creativity.

It also included the launch of the “Africa is One” initiative, which aims to create a space to accomplish integration between countries which export raw materials and manufacturing countries on the continent.
