Roads appeared empty of people, and traffic was slower than usual in the morning hours.
Navigation in Alexandria and Dekheila ports was reportedly unaffected by the adverse weather.
Shipping movement is going on normally, Spokesman for Alexandria Port Authority said.
Alexandria shut down schools on Wednesday due to unstable weather conditions.
The governorate said on Tuesday the decision was made upon orders by Alexandria Governor Mohamed El-Sharif to ensure the safety of students.
