‘Extremely cold’ weather forecast for Egypt on Saturday

Extremely cold weather is forecast nationwide in Egypt on Saturday, extending to frost in several areas, the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) said on Friday.

According to the EMA, Egypt will see chilly weather on Saturday morning, with “extremely cold” weather to follow later in the day.

There will be frost in Central Sinai and southern Upper Egypt, with chances of rainfall on the Red Sea.

The weather will have limited effects on navigation; the Mediterranean and the Red Sea will both see waves of 1.5-2 metres.

The high temperature in Cairo on Saturday will be 17 degrees Celsius and the low will be 8 degrees, while Alexandria will have highs of 18 and lows of 11.
