AL chief heads for Germany to participate in Berlin summit on Libya

Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit headed for Germany on Saturday to take part in Berlin Summit on Libya which was called for by German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

Addressing the summit, which will kick off on Sunday, Abul Gheit will review the principles of the league's stance regarding a comprehensive political settlement of the Libyan crisis through consolidating the ceasefire declared on January 12.

The league's stance also includes calling on the Libyan warring parties to reach an agreement on the measures needed for permanent cessation of military operations and resuming national dialogue at the military, security, political and economic levels under the auspices of UN Envoy to Libya Ghassan Salame.
