Egypt's Journalists Syndicate declared on Sunday the shortlist nominees for the Egyptian Press Awards 2020, with Al-Ahram Press Institution having at least 17 nominations in 25 categories.
The nominations include Ahram Online's economy section and Al-Ahram Al-Iktisadi journalist Doaa Abdel-Moneim for her reports on the publishing industry and the databases industry.
Also among the nominees is Ahram Online's Injy Deif for her story "Finland is the happiest country in the world," which was published in Nisf Al Dunia magazine.
According to a statement by the syndicate, 569 journalists competed in 25 categories for the 2020 awards shortlist, including the newly added category for best video journalism report and the Hussein Abdel-Razek award for investigative reporting.
The prizes have been doubled this year to EGP 15,000 for first place and EGP 8,000 for second place in each category.
The awards committee will declare the winner within days.
