Health Minister Hala Zayed said Tuesday that a total of 1,832 suspected COVID-19 cases have tested negative for the novel virus.

Zayed said that just two foreigners were confirmed to have been infected with the deadly virus in Egypt.

The first COVID-19 case tested positive for the virus after undergoing medical tests under the supervision of the Health Ministry and the World Health Organization (WHO), she said.

She added that this case left the hospital after he tested negative following a 14-day quarantine.

The second coronavirus case, announced on Sunday, was also a foreigner who was immediately isolated after he tested positive for the virus, she said.

The case is in stable condition and all needed medical tests were conducted for people who interacted with him, she added.

Any new COVID-19 case will be immediately announced with full transparency in accordance with the international regulations in this regard and in coordination with the WHO, she said.

She called on all media outlets and social media users to seek accuracy while spreading news and take information only from official sources.
