Activists have called for a demonstration outside the High Court on Friday to press for the release of all political prisoners in Egypt. The call was posted on Facebook by the 'Second Revolution of Rage' group.

The April 6 Youth Movement and the Justice and Freedom Youth Movement have both been campaigning for the release of their members, George Ramzi and Ahmed Doma respectively, who are being held on "politically motivated" charges.

The No to Military Trials Campaign has also long been pressing for the release of civilians detained in military prisons and for an end to military trials of civilians.

Since the military took power in February 2011, more than ten thousand civilians have been tried by military courts and detained in military prisons.
