Egypt's Bank employees have Thursday as paid holiday on the occasion of the 68th anniversary of the 23 July Revolution, according to Egypt's central bank (ECB).
Banks will resume work on Sunday 26 July.
Egypt's private sector employees also have the anniversary as a paid holiday, according to a decision issued by the country's manpower minister on Tuesday.
On Monday, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly issued a decree stipulating that Thursday is a fully paid day off for government and public employees. The decision applies to ministries, government authorities, public institutions, local administrative bodies, and the public sector.
The holiday is not applicable to schools and universities as ongoing exams run as scheduled.
