Detained Muslim Brotherhood leader released

Mohie Hamed, member of the Muslim Brotherhood Guidance Bureau was released along with five other members after being detained since 26 December

The Zagazig criminal court has ordered the release of Mohie Hamed, a member of the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) Guidance Bureau, early today.

Five other members of the brotherhood’s branch in the Sharqiya governorate were also released, according to the group’s official portal, ikhwanonline.

The men were arrested on 26 December in the MB’s parliamentary bloc office in the city of Zagazig, the capital of the Sharqiya governorate. During the arrests, the police searched the members' homes, confiscating money, and a large number of documents.
