April 6 movement to mark fourth anniversary with large celebration

The influential April 6 movement lists in a statement the route for protest marches across Egypt that will mark the political youth group's fourth anniversary

On the anniversary of their fourth birthday, which followed in the aftermath of the famous general strike launched in the industrial city of Mahalla on 6 April 2008, the April 6 Youth Movement announced that they will celebrate the occasion anniversary on Friday, 5 pm, at Youth and Sports Theater, in Mohandessin, Cairo.

In a related development, April 6 has proposed the formation of a transitional council to lead the country which includes former IAEA chief, Mohamed ElBaradei; Nobel laureate Ahmed Zewail; prominent political activists Alaa Al-Aswany and George Ishaq; presidential candidates Abdel Moneim Abul-Fotouh; Bothaina Kamel, Hamdeen Sabbahi and Abul-Ezz El-Hariri; and the Grand Sheikh of Al-Azhar, Ahmed El-Tayeb.
