President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi directed the concerned bodies on Wednesday to prepare a detailed study for a mega national horse farms' project to raise pure breeds of Egyptian-Arabian horses.
He stressed that "Egypt's stud farms" project is going to have its value added as well as cultural and tourism benefits.
El-Sisi made his remarks on Wednesday during a meeting with Head of the Armed Forces Logistics Authority Walid Hussein Abul Majd, the head of the Armed Forces veterinary service department and heads of two Egyptian investment bodies specialised in raising thoroughbred Egyptian-Arabian horses.
The meeting discussed State's efforts to restore the heritage of breeding Egyptian-Arabian horses and revive associated activities, Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady said.
El-Sisi said El-Zahraa Stud, the official authority responsible for registering horses in Egypt and having some of the purest bred horses in the world, should serve as a driving force to lay the foundations for the project, which will also include all equestrian sports and activities.
Envisioned to occupy the largest green area across the Middle East, the project will be carried out in cooperation with the world's leading real estate developers.
