Egypt has condemned two separate terrorist attacks that killed at least 30 people on Sunday, the Egyptian foreign minister said.

The government and people of Egypt extend their “sincere condolences” to the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and the families of the victims of these brutal terrorist attacks, and wishes “for a speedy recovery for the injured,” said the official statement by the foreign ministry.

Egypt expressed solidarity with Afghanistan and reiterated its firm rejections of all forms of terrorism, violence and extremism.

In the eastern Ghazni province, at least 31 soldiers were reportedly killed and 24 others were injured in a suicide attack on a military base.

In Zabul province, another suicide attack targeted the convoy of a local council chief in the province, killing at least three people and injuring 21 others, according to media reports.
