A second wave
Minister of Health Hala Zayed stated on Wednesday that Egypt is currently witnessing the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic.
"This week, the 51st week since the discovery of coronavirus in Egypt, witnessed a leap in the numbers of daily recorded coronavirus cases and fatalities," she said.
Zayed added that there are currently 363 hospitals ready to receive patients as well as 200 extra ventilators available to face the increase in cases.
A list of coronavirus isolation designated hospitals is going to be released in each governorate, she said.
Earlier this week, the ministry of health announced that 30 hospitals in Cairo were designated as isolation-ready.
