A fire broke out on Sunday at a luxurious Nile cruise boat near the upscale district of El-Zamalek, west of the Egyptian capital Cairo.
The fire erupted at a restaurant in the boat's second floor and extended to the ground floor, causing no casualties, according to a security source.
Firegighters from Cairo's Civil Protection were sent to the incident site to help in extinguishing the blaze.
The sources did not provide further details on the number of people aboard the boat.
Nile cruises in Egypt are a major tourist attraction, a key revenue earner.
