The verdict against Cairo's synagogue attacker was postponed to 17 February.

Gamal Hussein Ahmed, 49, was accused of planning a suicide bombing at the Adly Street Synagogue in downtown Cairo. He is suspected of throwing a suitcase containing a makeshift bomb at the synagogue in February 2010. The bomb, which caused no damage or injuries, was said to have been made of gasoline cans and a bottle of sulfuric acid.

Ahmed, a tailor from Boulaq district, went to the Panorama Hotel across the street from the historic synagogue and threw the suitcase containing the makeshift bomb from the hostel's fourth-floor window. The suitcase caught fire but did not explode.

Authorities arrested Ahmed on 23 February, 2010.
