Egypt parliament upper house to be dissolved before next sitting: Sources
Thursday's constitutional court ruling for the dissolution of the people's assembly will extend to the upper house in the next 10 days, according to reports

Egypt's upper house of parliament will be suspended by a decree from the Supreme Council of Armed Forces (SCAF) before its next scheduled sitting on 26 June, parliamentary sources told Ahram's Arabic language news website.
The fate of the upper house -- also called the Shura Council -- was cast in doubt after the lower house was dissolved on Thursday when Egypt's High Constitutional Council (HCC) found the elections law unconstitutional.
Maher Sami, deputy head of the HCC, said shortly after the verdict on Thursday that both houses – the People's Assembly and the consultative Shura Council – would be dissolved.
On Saturday, Tarek El-Sahry, an MP with the Salafist Nour Party MP and deputy speaker of the Shura Council, said the court's ruling should only affect the lower house.
The HCC's ruling came as a result of the appeals lodged against the People's Assembly, he said, which meant is should have no impact on the upper house.
