A fresh fuel shortage in Tanta, the capital of the Delta Gharbiya Governorate, has caused traffic to grind to a halt in city's main arteries as long queues of cars and trucks reappeared in front of petrol stations.
Fuel shortages have been a recurrent issue. Since the beginning of the year, the country has witnessed three nationwide shortages.
Egyptian authorities repeatedly attribute the fuel shortfall to external factors such as bad weather that impacted imports or to panic-buying.
