Morsi continues his policy of pardoning some prisoners to celebrate public holidays

The prisoners service sector has approved President Mohamed Morsi's decision to pardon 569 common prisoners for the 6 October national holiday.

The pardoned prisoners were chosen by a committee headed by the deputy interior minister for prison affairs.

Morsi had previously pardoned other political and common prisoners during the Eid Al-Fitr holiday in August.

Critics have charged that the president has not fully fullfilled his campaign promises of releasing all those jailed after facing military trials during the reign of the military council in the aftermath of the January 25 revolution.
