Constitutional scholar, Yehia El-Gamal stated that article 76 in the Egyptian constitution is a constitutional mistake.

He described it as one of the worst in all constitutions worldwide and must be amended.

Moreover, El-Gamal said that this article should be amended to limit the powers of the president and then Egypt will become a parliamentary republic.

Article 76 is one of the priorities the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces has referred to modify.
