Ahram Online, Wednesday 12 Dec 2012

The public prosecution will investigate two fires within 12 hours at Maadi Central Exchange that disrupted phone services in the posh district

Maadi Central Exchange caught fire for the second time in 12 hours Wednesday, causing disruption to 60,000 telephone cables.

Civil defence forces managed to put out the fire. General Usama El-Soghayar, security manager of Cairo, ordered the public prosecution to investigate.

Earlier on 28 October, hundreds of small retail shops were destroyed when a fire ripped through a large outdoor market, Libya Market, in Egypt's coastal Marsa Matrouh governorate.
