The January 25 Youth Coalition is preparing for a million plus protest tomorrow to demand that Egyptian interim Prime Minister Ahmed Shafik steps down.
The protest is dubbed the “Friday of Determination”. The coalition has announced that two protests will begin Friday noon from El-Estekama Mosque in Downtown and El-Nour Mosque in El-Abbasiya, and both will head to Tahrir Square.
Once the protesters reach Tahrir, they are expected to head to the headquarters of the Council of Ministers at 5:00pm to hold a symbolic protest until 11:30pm on Saturday.
The protesters want Shafik to go and new ministers, who didn’t serve in the old regime, to be appointed. They also demand that NDP members and hired thugs who were behind the death of 365 martyrs and the injury of 5000 during the 18 days of the revolution be put on trial, with the state security apparatus dissolved and all political detainees released.
The coalition is asking Egyptians from all governorates to protest tomorrow under the slogan, “Egypt’s voice rises from every street.”
