A doppelganger of Mohamed Morsi tried in vain to shake hands with the Egyptian President after Friday's prayers as presidential guard kept him away.
Ramadan Al-Sohagai, a street vendor, made his first media appearance in an interview with Al-Arabia TV earlier this month, citing the striking similarity to Morsi.
On Friday, Youm7 news portal filmed the same man while he was waiting, among others, to see Morsi while leaving Al-Hamad mosque in Cairo's upscale El Tagamoa El Khames district, where the president also lives.
Seemingly hoping the guards would make an exception for him due to the physical resemblance between him and Morsi, Al-Sohagai asked one of the guards forming a human shield to let him pass so as he can shake hands with the President.
He was denied though as Morsi, surrounded by other robust guards, passed while waving to the people inside the mosque on his way out.
In his previous interview with Al-Arabia TV, Al-Sohagai said that people often mistake him for President Morsi, which causes him troubles with those who do not like the President.
