Minister of Interior Mohamed Ibrahim has sacked the chief of Giza security directorate over clashes that killed 18 and injured hundreds at Cairo University on Tuesday night.

Hussein El-Kady has been appointed to replace Abdel-Maged Lotfy.

Violent clashes erupted at Cairo University between supporters and opponents of President Morsi on Tuesday.
