Egypt’s Journalist Syndicate mourned photographer Ahmed Samir Al-Snoosi of the Freedom and Justice newspaper, who was shot dead early Monday, Al-Ahram Arabic language news website reported.

Al-Snoosi was killed while covering Monday's bloody clashes between supporters of former president Mohamed Morsi and security forces at Cairo’s Republican Guard headquarters, which left at least 51 dead and 435 injured.

According to Al-Ahram, the syndicate will grant Al-Snoosi honorary membership and his family will receive a pension.

The Freedom and Justice daily is the newspaper of the Muslim Brotherhood's Freedom and Justice Party.
