Egyptian authorities are not focused on the Ethiopia dam crisis due to the turmoil caused by the removal of Mohamed Morsi from the presidency, Irrigation Minister Mohamed Bahaaeddin has said.
Egypt is concerned that its share of the Nile's water will be reduced by the construction of the Ethiopian Renaissance Dam on the Blue Nile.
Talks over the dam were underway before the recent fallout between Egypt, Sudan - which recently endorsed the project – and Ethiopia.
Mohamed Morsi was removed from the presidency by the army on 3 July following mass protests against his rule.
Bahaaeddin, who is expected to be replaced in a cabinet reshuffle by Prime Minister Hazem El-Beblawi, said he had not received any calls concerning his successor.
