Prosecution orders bail for head of Brotherhood FJP

Former Muslim Brotherhood Supreme Guide Mahdi Akef will remain in jail for four more days

A prosecution judge has ordererd on Sunday former Muslim Brotherhood Supreme Guide Mahdi Akef remain in detention for four days pending further investigation in case of insulting judiciary.

The judge, however, set bail at LE5000 for Saad El-Katatni, the head of the Muslim Brotherhood's Freedom and Justice Party, on similar charges.

The two leading Brotherhood members are also being questioned in Tora Prison where they are detained for 15 days pending investigations on charges of inciting the killing of demonstrators at the Muslim Brotherhood's main headquarters in Cairo’s Muqattam district.

Several Muslim Brotherhood leaders, including former president Mohamed Morsi, have been ordered detained on several charges, including inciting violence, spying and insulting the judiciary.
